SIOUX CITY, Iowa (March 21, 2016) – Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City has announced another concert for the 2016 Battery Park concert series. Country music legend Dwight Yoakam, with award-winning guest Lee Ann Womack, will play the outdoor venue on Saturday, August 13, 2016.

Yoakam is known for his approach to traditional honky tonk country during the 80’s and 90’s. Hits like “Honky Tonk Man,” “Guitars Cadillacs,” and more than 30 other singles on the Billboard charts helped him sell 25 million records and make his mark on country music. Throughout his impressive music career Yoakam has earned two ACM awards, one CMA award, and two Grammy awards.

Yoakam will be performing with the “I Hope You Dance” and “The Way I’m Livin’” artist, Lee Ann Womack. Womack had received seven CMA awards, five ACM awards, and one Grammy award. She was nominated twice at the 2016 Grammy Awards for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song.

Dwight Yoakam and Lee Ann Womack are the third performance announced for the 2016 Battery Park concert series. Previous artists revealed include country star Jake Owen and classic rock legend Boston. Impending rock ‘n’ roll hall of fame inductees, Cheap Trick featuring Edgar Winter, in addition to bands In This Moment & Pop Evil, will also perform in the outdoor venue for the Awesome Biker Nights rally this summer.

The outdoor concert series, which debuted mid-2015 in the renovated Battery Park venue, brought more than 25,000 people to concerts throughout the summer. Additional acts for the 2016 Battery Park Concert Series will be announced at a later date.

“In another time and place,” sings Dwight Yoakam on the buoyant “In Another World,” the opening track on his new album Second Hand Heart.
