TURNPIKE TROUBADOURS TO HEADLINE RED DIRT COUNTRY FESTIVAL AT HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO SIOUX CITY’S BATTERY PARK

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Feb. 12, 2019) – Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City announced today that country band Turnpike Troubadours will headline the 2019 Red Dirt Country Festival in Battery Park on July 27, 2019. Other performers at the festival will include Randy Rogers Band, Casey Donahew, Shooter Jennings and Parker McCollum.

Red Dirt Country Festival is the third event announced for this year’s Battery Park series, following the announcement of country singer-songwriter Kane Brown and metal band Five Finger Death Punch.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, and may be purchased at www.hardrockcasinosiouxcity.com or in-person at the Rock Shop. Shows in Battery Park are open to all ages.

Turnpike Troubadours is not your run-of-the-mill country band. The band prides itself on being a part of the Red Dirt movement; a mix of folk, bluegrass, country and honky tonk named after the color of the soil in Oklahoma. It was there, that Turnpike Troubadours began in 2005 and released their debut album, Bossier City, within a month of their formation. In 2007, they released their own record label, Bossier City Records, to have the ability to raise their profile in their own style.

They released two more albums in the following years; 2010’s Diamonds & Gasoline and 2012’s Goodbye Normal Street, which reached No. 14 on the U.S. Country chart and No. 3 on the U.S. Folk chart.

The band’s 2015 self-titled album was a commercial breakthrough, rising to No. 3 on the U.S. Country chart and cracking the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. Their most recent album, A Long Way From Your Heart, once again reached the No. 3 position on the U.S. Country chart and No. 1 in both the U.S. Indie and Folk charts.
