PERFORMING THIS WEEK:
Born in Stuttgart, Arkansas in 1983, Charlie Franklin III began singing in church as early as 4 years old. After singing every Sunday in church and in school, he and his brothers started an R&B group together. While writing songs and singing with his brothers he moved to Hutchinson, Kansas where they opened up for the likes of Color Me Badd, Coolio, Olivia, South Sixty Five, and many other artists in the Music Industry. Charlie also worked at the Boys and Girls Club for six years. Where he was a Youth Vision Leader and was responsible for lots of shows as well as the well-being of hundreds of kids daily. As they got older and went separate ways Charlie (A.K.A) C-Note focused his attention on a solo career.
Charlie sang in High School, Show and Jazz choirs in college and was the Lead Role many times acting and singing in different classic musicals (ex: 1776, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, etc). While in Branson, Missouri for a High School National Show Choir competition Charlie also won Best Male Vocalist beating out close to a 100 other soloist. Always pursuing his singing career, C-Note has performed for many birthday parties, County Fairs, has sang at weddings, and has also opened up for Keyshia Cole, Shaggy, Rik Rok and many others. He wrote and released an R&B album called Makin’ Music and has completed several mix-tapes. He also recorded a music video in Lincoln, Nebraska which is featured on You Tube.
Charlie got a chance to show off his acting skills in an independent film while in Nebraska. Just recently Charlie auditioned for the Arts Expo, which is a program and showcase for up and coming stars from all around the world. Charlie auditioned with many other contestants in and around Sioux City, Iowa and was one of the chosen few to represent Omaha, Nebraska in the Arts Expo. Since moving to Sioux City, Iowa in 2009 C-Note has also opened for Gorilla Zoe, Rittz, Lil Flip, Devin the Dude, and the Legendary Scarface! Not to mention he signed to hottest label in the Sioux City area 4WORN RECORDS. This guy is one talented Recording Artist with the versatility to record albums both in Hip-Hop and R&B categories. Make way for this Hunid Dolla Man and watch his career continue as the stakes get higher and higher.
TJ F1gh is a local Sioux City rapper, proudly representing his birthplace. Following the tragedy of losing his sight at 18, TJ changed his focus to his childhood love of rap music. He was influenced by the rappers of his youth teaching him to appreciate the creativity of language, music and collaboration.
At a young age, TJ began his musical journey playing piano and saxophone, preparing him to create instrumentals for some of his own tracks. His first project, “The Balance” was released in 2017 and can be found on major digital platforms. Its message focuses on facing good and evil, reflective self-examination, and the struggle with fears and addictions. When not performing at shows or on tour, TJ spends countless hours in the studio working on TJ F1gh projects and collaborative efforts with other talented musicians. Watch out for his latest work in an upcoming release titled “Fifty Shades of Blind”.
