PERFORMING THIS WEEK:
Started in the summer many moons ago , in a powerless living room , the original members of Port Nocturnal would practice off car batteries until early in the morning. A lot has happened for this band since that time including playing the Abe Stage at Sioux Cities Saturday in The Park and then main stage the following year. The band has recorded two albums live in Oakland California and has played in multiple states across the country. The sound can be described as psychedelic desert rock with implements of blues and jazz The first album can be found for free on youtube under Stoned Meadow of Doom page. Also on itunes, bandcamp, apple music, google , spotify etc. The highly anticipated 2nd album will be released in April of this year.
“Maddox and the crew wear their hearts on their sleeve, leaving their songs dripping with emotion.”
–Colorado Music Buzz
Hard rock music forged on the highways of America. Scarlet Canary’s drive for their music is only matched by the miles they drive on the road. Boasting 50,000 miles of driving and over 100 shows a year for the last few summers has earned the band a reputation as one of the hardest working rock bands in the regional scene.
But the band has a lot more to offer than just miles on the road. Those experiences offer up the material that has served as the inspiration for 4 EP’s over the course of the last 4 years. The most recent EP ‘Perspective’ landed the band national opportunities opening for Avenged Sevenfold and Megadeth at the 2017 Rock Fest concert in Cadott, WI.
“Scarlet Canary’s new EP Perspective fits the band name very well, showing with this wild songbird can do. The album is a mishmash of heavy rock and’ roll riffs combined with elegant vocals.” –Bandwagon Magazine
The band hails from the mile high city of Denver, CO but has opened for national acts like Skillet, Lita Ford, Gemini Syndrome, and Butcher Babies all over America.
The proof of these efforts are in their performance;
“The band members in Scarlet Canary strive to put every ounce of passion and energy they can muster into the group’s live performances.” –The Weekender
Winning the Cheers battle of the bands December of 2016 the band then went on to win the 98.7 KKFM ‘Next 2 Rock Competition,’ and recently was awarded the ‘Best Female Fronted Band’ by Z98 (iHeart Media).
