THE WOOD NOTES
The Wood Notes are a three piece from Omaha, Nebraska. They play Indie rock jam band tunes. They formed in Summer 2016. Their five track EP from 2017 is on Spotify, and many live recordings and videos are available on social media. Full album release date coming soon for 2018. Last year they were voted one of the best bands in Omaha through the OEAA. The Wood Notes range from living room acoustic vibe to all out rockfest dance party, exploring all the sonic nooks and crannies in between. The three members have a history together, to long to tell, but in short, this band is a rekindling of an old flame. Vince and Mike played in Omaha bands together in their early teens, roughly 2005- 2010. Mark eventually became part of the core group. The boys had some years apart before regrouping with full force to be what they are today. They hail from Omaha, Nebraska, where there is a rich local music scene. Their favorite local venue to play is the Down Under lounge, home of the Side Door open mic, where up and coming musicians can find a family and network to flourish. The Wood Notes aim to share this familial colaborative vibe, fusing rock, singer/songwriting and explorative jams. Members of the Wood Notes are Vince Swaney on guitar and vocals, Mike Laizure on bass and vocals and Mark Winkelbauer on Drums and Bad Dad Jokes. The Wood Notes are known for their live music, improvisation and vocals. Weezer meets the Grateful Dead. Call it Ear-worm rock with explorative vibes.
