When he died on October 2, 2017, Tom Petty left behind a lifetime of classic songs — songs that are woven into the very fabric of popular culture. Those songs live on in Petty’s dozens of albums, both as a solo artist and with the Heartbreakers, but now that the man himself is gone, so is the opportunity to experience him delivering them live to a crowd of adoring fans. But there is the next best thing: Southern Accents, the ultimate Tom Petty tribute band.

Comprising six superlative musicians from Nashville’s rich music scene, Southern Accents have been bringing fans the Petty experience for the last three years, not only performing his timeless hits with exacting reverence but even looking and acting the part. At the helm is Petty doppelganger Ronnie Gregg, who sports the straw-colored locks and Mad Hatter haberdashery of “Don’t Come Around Here No More”-era Petty, not to mention the signature voice and funky moves. Backing him are musicians who’ve toured with the likes of some of the biggest names in music today, all of whom know both the licks and the looks of their counterparts in the Heartbreakers. These are veteran players who’ve proven themselves over the years in a slew of major professional projects and dedicate their time and attention to Southern Accents for one simple reason: They love sharing the music of Tom Petty.

And when Southern Accents take the stage, they embody not just the music but the feeling of a Petty concert. The band loves the songs you love, of course, blockbuster hits like “American Girl” and “Refugee.” But they also love the possibility of exposing their audiences to Petty songs they might not know, older rarities and obscure B-sides like “Honey Bee” and “Crawling Back to You.” A typical Southern Accents show will have audiences singing along and probably shedding a tear or two — out of joy, for sure, and also out of reverence for the dearly departed, one of the greatest American artists of all time.

ADELITAS WAY

Adelitas Way formed in 2006 and quickly created a massive buzz in their hometown Las Vegas music scene, by consistently selling out shows left and right. Fronted by lead singer/songwriter Rick Dejesus, and joined by drummer Trevor Stafford and bassist Andrew Cushing, they signed to Virgin Records and broke into the mainstream with their anthemic song Invincible from their self-titled debut album.

Today, the band’s presence over the last two decades in the rock scene has certainly been felt as a force to be reckoned with – they have become proven industry veterans, with 8 full length albums under their belt, culminating in over 1 billion combined streams across their catalog. Throughout their career, the band has relentlessly toured and built up a strong live following, touring with the likes of Guns N Roses, Shinedown, Creed, Skillet, Three Days Grace, Halestorm, Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Alter Bridge, Theory of a Deadman, Skillet, 10 Years, Buckcherry, Hinder, Red, Flyleaf, The Pretty Reckless and more, as well as successfully headlining sold out venues throughout the country. They have played the mainstage at the biggest Rock festivals in America, such as Rock On The Range, Carolina Rebellion, Louder Than Life, Welcome To Rockville, Blue Ridge Rock Festival, RockFest in Cadott, WI, Rock USA, Sturgis Bike Rally, and many more. One thing is for certain – Adelitas Way is a massive independently successful rock act, and here to stay and pave the way for the future of rock and roll.

NEW MEDICINE

Formed in 2009 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, New Medicine brings a high-octane blend of modern hard rock, post-grunge emotion and hip-hop swagger. Their explosive sound and dynamic live shows have earned them a loyal following and over 400 million global streams to date.

The band made their debut with Race You to the Bottom (Photo Finish/Atlantic Records), landing on the Billboard 200 and launching them into national tours with heavyweights like Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Halestorm, Hollywood Undead, and Papa Roach. Their follow-up album Breaking the Model (Imagen Records) sparked a surge in the new digital streaming era, led by their breakout anthem “Fire Up the Night,” which recently earned RIAA Gold certification.

After a hiatus beginning in 2015, New Medicine returned in 2020 with the single “Die Trying,” reigniting their fanbase and building major momentum across digital platforms. A wave of viral trending sounds and user-generated content on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts helped fuel the band’s independent resurgence. Since then, they’ve released over 25 new songs and grown their audience to over 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, proving their ability to thrive in the modern music landscape without major label support.

Now, New Medicine is gearing up for their most ambitious release yet – a 24-song double album slated for later this year. They also continue their ongoing collaboration with tour mates Adelitas Way that have already generated over 20 million streams. Their fifth single together “Last Laugh,” set for release ahead of their Fall 2025 co-headlining tour.

CHICAGO INITIALLY gained fame opening for music legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, and the Beach Boys, hitting its stride almost immediately after their debut effort, Chicago Transit Authority, a double album, came out in 1969.

The iconic group that captured the hearts of millions of fans has earned 23 gold, 18 platinum, and 8 multi-platinum albums to date. They have had five number-one albums and 21 top-ten singles. On April 8, 2016, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at Barclay’s Center in New York.

From the beginning, Seraphine, as the drummer, was always the backbone of the operation. It was his job to keep everyone on time and on balance. He set the pace and carried it through to the end, no matter what. In 1990, after 23 years of performing, composing, and recording albums with Chicago, Seraphine experienced a jarring parting of ways with the bandmates that he considered brothers. The rift threw his life into chaos. Together they had toured the world and created one of the most enduring American songbooks of all time. He left music behind for 15 years, focusing his creative energy on producing, as well as working with a variety of Broadway musical and theatrical projects. After grueling decades spent on the road, Seraphine settled in Colorado and seized the opportunity to devote more time to his family, deepening his bonds with all six of his children.

In the end, it was a request to play a benefit show for a fellow drummer that pulled Seraphine out of seclusion and sparked a musical rebirth. That night, basking in the glow of a standing ovation, Seraphine realized how much he missed performing.

In 2007, spiritually and creatively reinvigorated, Seraphine returned to the stage with his new jazz-rock powerhouse group, California Transit Authority (CTA) often described as “Chicago on steroids”—and he made peace with his past with the refreshingly candid memoir Street Player: My Chicago Story (Wiley).

Critically acclaimed as an instrumentalist and composer, Rolling Stone magazine has ranked “the father of jazz rock” as one of the top 100 drummers of all time.

Tennessee-born troubadour Larry Fleet grew up on a stack of records spanning Merle Haggard, Otis Redding, Willie Nelson, and Marvin Gaye. A thoughtful songwriter with a knack for a one-line, an ear for a sturdy hook, and a powerhouse voice that strikes like a match, Fleet was working blue-collar jobs to make ends meet long before landing his recording contract with Big Loud Records. Seven years late and again working as an independent artist, the devout family man is turning heads among critics as a songwriter (“Man Made A Bar” recorded by Morgan Wallen ft. Eric Church) alongside his music, 2021’s tribute to the music that raised him, Stack of Records, his aptly titled 2019 debut, Workin’ Hard, 2023’s Earned It, featuring the single “Things I Take For Granted” and his first latest, 2025’s independently-released “Hard Work & Holy Water.” Saving Country Music puts it simply: “If you’re looking for the future of traditional country music, then look no further.”

With independent album Go Down Singin’ available everywhere now as the follow-up to the critically acclaimed I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, and both brought together on brand new offering Fireside Sessions, Rice’s sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life; from emotional reckoning to an admiration of the American West. Trailblazers veer off the beaten path and break every rule along the way.

Colt Ford consistently blazes his own trail. By doing so, the Georgia singer, songwriter, rapper, musician, performer, and co-founder and co-owner of Average Joes Entertainment keeps up pace as country’s preeminent independent maverick.

By 2019, Colt built a series of staggering successes as he rose to mainstream notoriety. He notched five consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart with Declaration of Independence bowing at #1 in 2012. Two years later, Thanks for Listening ascended to the Top 10 of the Top 200, with the album reaching #1 on Billboard Rap & Independent charts. Meanwhile, he lobbed six songs onto the Hot Country Songs Chart with “Back” [feat. Jake Owen] going Top 40. Among many accolades, Ford received a nomination in the category of “Vocal Event of the Year” at the Academy of Country Music Awards for “Cold Beer” with Jamey Johnson.

Selling over 3 million albums, attracting millions of followers on social media and hitting 1 billion-plus streams, the country rap pioneer’s dynamic discography spans collaborations with everyone from Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Jermaine Dupri to members of No Doubt, Lit, and Lady Antebellum. Additionally, he co-wrote Jason Aldean’s #1 hit “Dirt Road Anthem” and Brantley Gilbert’s #1 hit “Country Must Be Country Wide” as a behind-the-scenes force in the studio. Moreover, Ford’s solo tradition of genre-blurring continued on Love Hope Faith in 2017 by way of cuts such as “Reload” [feat. Taylor Ray Holbrook].

Ford’s latest project, Must Be The Country, which emerged amidst his courageous battle against eye cancer, showcases his deep vocal range and impeccable delivery. Following a rigorous surgery to eliminate the tumor, Ford’s resilience shone through as he confronted another obstacle: a diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune disorder impacting facial muscles and neural connections. Undeterred by his personal health challenges, Ford has remained an inspiration, continuing to play over 120 shows per year and crafting new projects that are slated for release later this year. His unwavering human spirit permeates his music, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his artistry.

Ned LeDoux’s life has been scarred by tragedy, and when faced with unimaginable losses, the singer-songwriter was presented with a choice: either drown in the sorrow, or turn these lives gone too soon into music, into song-like statues of the people he misses most. LeDoux, who has been releasing solo music since 2017 but has been a touring musician since his teenage years, has always opted for the latter. It’s what has made the songwriter and son of country legend Chris LeDoux such a worthy heir apparent as a renegade, heartfelt crooner.

His first full-length, 2017’s Sagebrush, includes “Forever A Cowboy,” an instant classic addition to the outlaw canon which quickly became a fan favorite and a staple at his shows — of which he performs at least 200 every year. On his most recent album, Buckskin, LeDoux embraced a rollicking, freewheeling sound, a pummeling response to the hand he’d been dealt, which included tragically having to bury his beloved daughter Haven, who died at the age of two in 2019. It’s this history, filled with loss — his pops died in 2005 at the all-too-young age of 56 — that informs LeDoux’s work. But in his latest album, touchingly titled Safe Haven, he uses the memories of those he has lost to help him carry on with joy, celebration, and a faith that they are guiding his work.

LeDoux’s mission in music has always been clear, a philosophy that rings more loudly now than ever before. “I’m just trying to write my own story and I’m a terrible pretender. I can’t write a song that I have no relation with because people would figure that out pretty quick. I’ll just stick to what I understand,” he explains. It’s precisely what reveals itself on the first taste of Safe Haven, “One Hand In The Riggin’,” an old cowboy tune that LeDoux has an intimate relationship with.

There’s a singer from Utah named Brenn Hill, who asked my pops way back when to sing on one of his songs, called ‘One Hand in the Riggin’,” LeDoux explains. “It was never released with my dad’s vocals, but Hill recently reached out and asked if I wanted to sing on it, and include the vocals he recorded with my dad.” The younger LeDoux was blown away by the gesture and immediately recorded his own vocals that would be featured on the track. Even though Chris LeDoux has been gone for almost 20 years, Ned gets to sing with his pops one more time on the contemplative “One Hand in the Riggin’,” which is deeply emotional while still being an absolute rocking romp.

Deciding to name the project itself after his late daughter is less a way to move on than to acknowledge the ways in which he’ll never be the same again. He’s bruised and battered, but unwilling to drown beneath the torrential wave of grief that comes at unexpected times — like an unexpected swell crashing violently onto shore. “I got a picture of me and my daughter hanging on the wall where I write, and I was brainstorming album titles one day. I just wrote her name down and thought that her name, Haven Jo, would be a good album title.” LeDoux explains. “Well, about three or four days later, my younger brother Will, who I was talking ideas with, texted me and asked, ‘What do you think about Safe Haven as a title?’ It was just a perfect fit.”

Though LeDoux spends time on the record singing about missing his pops and his daughter, he also dedicates some space to the ranching life he grew up with, and that he still immerses himself in when he’s not on the road or in Kansas with his wife. They spend a ton of time on the family ranch in Wyoming, which helps LeDoux remember his early years as a drummer, gigging with his dad and returning home to help the family operation run smoothly. “Those songs just come from all the years of working on the ranch, which we still have,” he explains. Though his visits aren’t as frequent as they used to be, he still considers the sprawling acreage home. “The ranch is going to be in the family as long as I have anything to do with it,” he adds.

Though Ned LeDoux has been in the music world since he was a teenager, he’s been writing and recording his own songs for less than a decade. As such, Safe Haven and “One Hand in the Riggin’” in particular are, by his estimation, far and away the artistic statements he’s always wanted to make. “My songwriting maturity is more confident than it’s ever been before,” he explains before adding that his fans will still recognize some of his signature style. “There’s also some stuff on here that relates very well with what I’ve done already, because it’s familiar and comfortable.” Safe Haven is an intoxicating blend of risk-taking, bold songwriting, and songs that find LeDoux in his familiar, comfortable territory. Both sides of the coin are equally worthy pursuits, one a reminder of where he’s been, and one an assurance that the path forward is still worth exploring.
