Annual motorcycle event expected to be bigger than ever
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (June 13, 2016) – Awesome Biker Nights (ABN) organizers and main stage sponsor, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City are anticipating bigger crowds than in years past for the 17th annual Awesome Biker Nights charity event. Held June 16-18, 2016 in the Historic Pearl Street district, Awesome Biker Nights 2016 features a variety of events, from which all proceeds go back to six community charities.

The six charities selected for the 2016 donations include: Mid-Step Services, Sioux City Special Olympics, Crossroads Shelter for Homeless Women & Children, S.T.A.R.S. (Special Troopers Adaptive Riding School), Florian Fire & Burn Foundation, and Three Rivers Cosmopolitan Club. Additional details about each charity can be found on the Awesome Biker Nights website.

Now in its 17th year, the annual charity rally of roaring motorcycles, live entertainment, and lots of leather has established itself as Northwest Iowa’s premier regional motorcycle event with an attendance of more than 25,000 people. Since its inaugural year, ABN has donated over $1 million to local charities. This year, the ABN board is expecting bigger crowds than ever before and hopes to surpass their goal to raise $100,000.

“Ticket sales for this year are significantly ahead of last year’s pace,” said Brian Hall, Chairman of the Awesome Biker Nights Board of Directors. “It’s exciting to see these sales translate directly into donations to local charities.”

The Awesome Biker Nights event location encompasses a five block area in downtown Sioux City, including bars and restaurants along Pearl Street. The Awesome Biker Nights experience includes a poker run, a bike show, poker tournament, bike raffle, a variety of vendors, and three stages of live music. The main stage this year is located at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City’s Battery Park.

The concerts for the main stage kick off with a free concert in Battery Park Thursday, June 16 with ONE Tribute to Metallica. On Friday, June 17, In This Moment & Pop Evil will take the Battery Park stage. Rock ‘n’ roll hall of fame inductees, Cheap Trick featuring Edgar Winter, will perform on Saturday, June 18 as the headline concert for the Awesome Bike Nights weekend.

“This event combines two things very important to us: giving back to the community and rock ‘n’ roll,” said Todd Moyer, General Manager for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City. “We are excited to support Awesome Biker Nights as the main stage sponsor and raise funds for local charities.”

Weekend wristband passes are $35 and are available for pre-purchase through this Thursday, June 16 at the Rock Shop or local Sioux City HyVee stores. After Thursday, daily event tickets can be bought for $25 per night.
