BATTERY PARK WINS THE 2018 CASINO ARENA/AMPHITHEATER OF THE YEAR AWARD

SIOUX CITY, IA (October 11, 2018) – Battery Park at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City won the 2018 Casino Arena/Amphitheater of the Year Award from the Global Gaming Expo, G2E. The award was presented at the Casino Entertainment Awards on October 10, 2018, at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

Sponsored by G2E, the Casino Entertainment Awards are the official awards exclusively honoring outstanding artists, executives and venues in the casino entertainment industry. Battery Park was previously selected as a top-three finalist for this award in 2015.

“The growth and support we continue to see in Battery Park since its opening in 2015 has been tremendous,” said Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City’s General Manager, Jim Franke. “The venue itself has gotten rave reviews from not only our guests but also the touring artists. We are very proud of what we have built in Battery Park.”

Battery Park was among other elite nominees in this category, including the Event Center at Choctaw Casino Durant in Durant, Oklahoma and Sandbar Stage at Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Named in homage to Sioux City’s historic Battery Building, the completely redesigned Battery Park features artful design, a state of the art sound system, headliner entertainment and space for community events. In 2015, its inaugural year, Battery Park welcomed more than 25,000 guests to its eight-concert series highlighted by an array of rock icons. Since then, over 109,000 guests have visited for concerts during the summer months.

The 2018 season of Battery Park’s concert series brought 11 acts to the stage, including popular artists such as Post Malone, Kesha, Pitbull, Old Dominion and Nickelback.
