YNGWIE MALMSTEEN TO PERFORM IN ANTHEM AT HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO SIOUX CITY THIS MAY

SIOUX CITY, IOWA (Jan. 8, 2019) – Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City has announced that Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen will perform at Anthem on May 18, 2019. Malmsteen, who was named by Time Magazine as one of the 10 greatest electric guitar players of all time, is best known for mixing his electrifying guitar riffs with elements of classic orchestral music.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, and may be purchased at www.hardrockcasinosiouxcity.com or in-person at the Rock Shop. All events in Anthem are for guests 21 years and older.

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN

Yngwie Malmsteen is a world-renowned guitarist from Stockholm, Sweden. As a young boy, he originally had no interest in music until the age of 7 when he saw a TV special with the late Jimi Hendrix. Yngwie watched in awe as Hendrix blasted the audience with torrents of feedback and sacrificed his guitar in flames. The day Jimi Hendrix died, the guitar-playing Yngwie was born.

Yngwie Malmsteen’s career has spanned more than 40 years with over 20 albums to his name. Drawing influence from composers such as Bach, Paganini and Vivaldi, Yngwie is responsible for birthing the neo-classical genre to the world of rock. In 1985, he was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for his album Rising Force.
