COUNTRY STAR ANNOUNCED FOR BATTERY PARK’S 2016 CONCERT SERIES
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (March 14, 2016) – Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City has announced another artist in the 2016 Battery Park concert series lineup. Country music star Jake Owen, with special guests Love and Theft, will play for Siouxland fans on Friday, August 26, 2016.
Owen’s song, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, has garnered over 20 million views on YouTube. Other hit songs include Eight Second Ride, Beachin’, and Alone With You. His revival of “Life in a Northern Town” with Sugarland and Little Big Town in 2008 earned him Grammy and CMA Award nominations. Owen was named 2009’s Top New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music and he has opened for country legends like Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban. Recently, Owen has been gearing up for his next album release, which will include his latest singles “Real Life” and “American Country Love Song”.
Jake Owen is the second concert announced for the 2016 Battery Park concert series. Last week, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino revealed classic rock legend Boston will perform in the outdoor venue on Saturday, June 4. Battery Park will also host impending rock ‘n’ roll hall of fame inductees, Cheap Trick featuring Edgar Winter, in addition to bands In This Moment & Pop Evil, for the Awesome Biker Nights rally this summer.
The outdoor concert series, which debuted mid-2015 in the renovated Battery Park venue, brought more than 25,000 people to concerts throughout the summer. Additional acts for the 2016 Battery Park Concert Series will be announced at a later date.
